Kielce: Defense giant Hanwha Aerospace Co. announced on Thursday that it has entered into an agreement with two Estonian companies to co-develop a battlefield management system (BMS) tailored for its infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) platforms. This partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed on Wednesday during the ongoing Polish defense fair MSPO 2025 in Kielce, Poland. The Redback IFV platform, a product of Hanwha Aerospace, will be used as the foundational platform for the new BMS.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the collaboration involves Estonian companies Nortal and SensusQ. Nortal will leverage its expertise in digital transformation and complex systems integration, while SensusQ will contribute technological and operational support to the project. The BMS is designed to integrate battlefield data, thereby enhancing command and control capabilities, which is essential for modern military operations.

Hanwha Aerospace expressed optimism that this agreement could facilitate its entry into Estonia's IFV market. Kim Dong-hyun, the head of the land system business group at Hanwha Aerospace, stated, "This MOU is about building a genuine security partnership. By collaborating with esteemed Estonian companies, we are committed to contributing to the growth of the local and European defense industry."
