Seoul: Hanmi Pharm. Co. on Tuesday announced a net profit of 84.1 billion won (US$57.6 million) for the second quarter, marking a 95.5 percent rise from the previous year. The South Korean pharmaceutical company has shown an impressive increase in profits for the April-June period.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hanmi Pharm. revealed in a regulatory filing that its operating profit surged by 116.9 percent on-year to reach 131.1 billion won. Additionally, the company's revenue saw a 29.3 percent increase, totaling 467.2 billion won for the quarter.

Despite these gains, Hanmi Pharm.'s earnings did not align with market forecasts. Analysts had projected an average net profit of 108.4 billion won, as per a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data division of Yonhap News Agency.
