Seoul: Hana Financial Group reported its second-quarter net income of 1.2 trillion won (US$823.4 million), reflecting an increase of 1.8 percent from the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company, recognized as one of South Korea's significant banking groups, disclosed in a regulatory filing that it achieved an operating profit of 1.59 trillion won for the quarter, up from 1.49 trillion won in the same period last year. Additionally, sales experienced a growth of 13.7 percent, reaching 27.25 trillion won.
Despite the reported growth, the earnings did not meet market expectations. Analysts, as surveyed by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency, had anticipated an average net profit of 1.24 trillion won.
