Seoul: South Korea is verifying reports of a possible attack on a South Korean vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, officials said Monday. The move comes after Washington launched an operation dubbed "Project Freedom," aimed at freeing stranded ships in the narrow waterway that has been effectively blocked by Iranian forces since the U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran in late February.
According to Yonhap News Agency, a government official stated, "We are verifying information that a South Korean vessel may have been attacked." The foreign ministry has acknowledged the report but confirmed that no casualties involving South Korean nationals have been reported.
