Seoul: The government is adopting "extra vigilance" concerning the recent fluctuations in the foreign exchange market, as stated by Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol on Friday. This announcement came during a meeting with ministers related to economic affairs, highlighting South Korea's strides in economic recovery despite ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Finance Minister Koo emphasized the importance of monitoring the increased volatility in both financial and foreign exchange markets. He also addressed the challenges posed by consumer prices that directly affect people's daily lives, affirming the government's commitment to maintaining stability. The Korean won has been trading consistently above the critical threshold of 1,500 won against the U.S. dollar for 13 consecutive trading sessions up until Thursday.
