Seoul: The government is set to hold an energy conference on Tuesday in Seoul alongside German energy officials and experts to deliberate on methods to achieve net zero carbon emissions and the expansion of renewable energy usage, as announced by the climate ministry.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the conference, which is co-hosted by the German energy ministry, will serve as a platform for energy companies and research institutes from both countries to explore opportunities for cooperation within the renewable energy sector. The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment emphasized the significance of this collaboration.
In addition to the main conference, a separate bilateral energy cooperation committee meeting is scheduled to take place. This meeting will focus on exchanging views on strategies aimed at promoting the transition to renewable energy.
A climate ministry official stated in a press release, "The energy transition cooperation between Korea and Germany will contribute to the joint efforts of the international community to achieve climate and energy goals."
