At the event, KAIST reached agreements with LIG Nex1 Co. and Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. to create AI-based decision-making systems tailored for defense applications. This collaboration is expected to leverage state-of-the-art technology for national defense purposes.
In another significant development, the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, located approximately 270 kilometers south of Seoul, committed to collaborating with POSCO Future M Co. and Sebang Lithium Battery. Their goal is to develop an intelligent battery manufacturing platform, which could revolutionize the battery production industry.
Additionally, Kakao Corp. has partnered with four institutes to promote regional growth through AI. They have launched various programs with a budget of 50 billion won (US$32.3 million), demonstrating a substantial investment in shared growth initiatives.
Science Minister Bae Kyung-hoon emphasized that these agreements represent an opportunity to consolidate the capabilities of businesses and research institutes in key national strategic technologies.
