Las vegas: "Golden," from the original soundtrack of Netflix's animated film "KPop Demon Hunters," has won Song of the Year at the American Music Awards. The track, performed by Korean American artists Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, was announced as the winner at the ceremony held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday (U.S. time).

According to Yonhap News Agency, "Golden" triumphed over nine other nominees, including Taylor Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia," to secure the top honor. During her acceptance speech, Ejae expressed gratitude to fans and the "KPop Demon Hunters" team, emphasizing the song's connection to its audience. "Truly, like this movie, this song is fueled by the fans. You guys filled the Honmoon," she said, also extending thanks to Rei and wishing her a happy birthday.

Rei expressed appreciation, saying, "Thank you to our friends, family and teams and our incredible 'KPop Demon Hunters' family for a life-changing year." However, Audrey Nuna, the third member of the trio, was not present at the ceremony.

The song "Golden," co-written by Ejae, achieved significant success by topping the Billboard Hot 100 for eight non-consecutive weeks and leading the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 for 10 nonconsecutive weeks. Additionally, the soundtrack album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Earlier in the year, "Golden" garnered accolades at major global award ceremonies, securing wins at the Grammy Awards, the Academy Awards, and the Golden Globe Awards.
