GM Korea’s July Sales Surge 30 Percent on Solid Exports

Seoul: GM Korea Co., the South Korean unit of General Motors Co., announced that its July sales increased by 30.6 percent compared to the previous year, primarily due to strong demand for its sport utility vehicles (SUVs) in overseas markets. The automaker reported worldwide sales of 42,199 vehicles for the month, marking the sixth instance this year where sales surpassed 40,000 units.

According to Yonhap News Agency, GM Korea exported 41,353 vehicles in July, while domestic sales amounted to 766 units. The surge in overseas sales was primarily driven by the Trax Crossover, which saw sales of 26,822 units, reflecting a 48.1 percent increase from the previous year. The Trailblazer also contributed significantly with 15,531 units sold.
