‘Glass-Ceiling Index’ Paints Grim U.S. Picture For International Women’s Day

By Richard Horgan Los Angeles (Knewz) — For the second year in a row, The Economist magazine ranks Sweden as the best place to work for women, followed by Iceland, Finland and Norway. It’s not nearly as encouraging a picture on International Women’s Day for the United States. The U.S. in 2022 fell two spots on the index and now sits at 20 out of 29 ranked countries, with the magazine noting that unlike its Scandinavian brethren and other countries such as Denmark, there is no nationally mandated parental leave.
