Genesis BBQ and Honduras-Based Firm Establish European Headquarters in Spain

Madrid: Genesis BBQ, a renowned South Korean fried chicken franchise, has announced the establishment of its European headquarters in collaboration with a Honduras-based company. This strategic move is part of the franchise's ambitious expansion into the European market.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the joint headquarters, set up by BBQ and BLT F and B Group, is strategically located in Spain. This venture aims to boost their influence in Europe, a market considered pivotal in the global restaurant industry and a key player in international tourism. The newly established headquarters will function as a comprehensive logistics hub, managing the production of raw and auxiliary materials and coordinating distribution centers throughout the region.

BBQ Chairman Yoon Hong-geun highlighted the significance of Europe as a strategic entry point for the global proliferation of Korean cuisine. He emphasized that Europe is crucial to BBQ's broader global expansion plans. The company intends to progressively launch flagship stores in major European countries, including Spain, Britain, France, Poland, and the Netherlands, as part of its growth strategy.

BLT F and B Group, known for its expertise in financial services and restaurant operations across Spain and Latin America, is a key partner in this venture. Through this partnership, BBQ aims to establish master franchise agreements with local companies, operate flagship stores, and introduce menu items tailored to the European palate.

In a master franchise agreement, the franchisor authorizes the franchisee to open and operate outlets in a specified region, with the ability to further sub-franchise those rights to other parties. This framework is expected to facilitate BBQ's expansion throughout Europe, leveraging local expertise and market insights.
