Gains Dominate KOSPI 200 as Major Stocks Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200, South Korea's key stock index, showcased a strong performance with a majority of stocks experiencing gains. Among the notable performers, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. saw a significant rise, closing at 397,500, which is an increase of 21,000. Other prominent gainers included SK Square, which surged by 38,000 to close at 595,000, and Hyundai Autoever, which increased by 10,500 to reach 405,500.

According to Yonhap News Agency, among the companies reporting positive momentum was HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, closing at 516,000 with a rise of 14,000. SK Innovation also displayed robust growth, closing at 110,100, up by 4,500. GS, LIG Nex1, and Misto Holdings followed suit, closing at 67,700, 641,000, and 42,250, respectively, all recording gains for the day.

Other notable movements included DB Insurance, which rose by 6,900 to close at 183,700, and SBHC, which saw an increase of 8,500, closing at 68,900. The index also observed positive performances from DN Automotive and Hanwha Systems, which closed at 39,250 and 127,300, respectively, both marking significant increases.

Despite the overall positive trend, some stocks experienced declines. Amorepacific fell by 300 to close at 135,700, while Hanwha Solutions saw a decrease of 1,500, closing at 45,000. However, these declines were overshadowed by the substantial gains in other sectors, contributing to the overall positive sentiment in the market.
