Seoul: Three former commanders of the South Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command (CFC) have toured Hanwha Aerospace Co.'s manufacturing facility in South Korea, emphasizing the importance of the Seoul-Washington alliance, the company said Tuesday. According to Yonhap News Agency, the former CFC commanders -- Walter L. Sharp, Curtis Scaparrotti, and Robert B. Abrams -- visited the Hanwha facility in Changwon, located 298 kilometers south of Seoul, on Friday. Their visit aimed to observe key production lines for K9 self-propelled howitzers, K10 ammunition supply vehicles, and amphibious bridging vehicles. The three commanders, who also served as chiefs of the 28,500-strong U.S. Forces Korea, highlighted the potential benefits of incorporating these advanced arms into the U.S. military's arsenal. They noted that such additions would further solidify the South Korea-U.S. alliance through enhanced defense cooperation, as shared by the company.
