Ankara: First lady Kim Hea Kyung and Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan have visited Turkey's largest library in Ankara to discuss cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, as reported by Seoul's presidential office.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the two first ladies toured the Nation's Library in Ankara, where they explored the Korean-language section and conversed about the growing interest in Korean culture among Turkish youth. This visit was part of Kim's itinerary as she accompanied President Lee Jae Myung on his state visit to Turkey.

During their time at the library, Kim and Erdogan enjoyed a performance of the Korean folk song "Arirang" and a piano recital dedicated to Kim, who has a background in piano. They also explored an archaeological exhibition hall featuring artifacts excavated across Turkey and cultural properties repatriated from overseas.

Following their tour, Kim and Erdogan convened at the presidential residence to sign the Zero Waste Initiative, which commits to supporting efforts to reduce waste and promote recycling. This initiative was highlighted in a written briefing by vice presidential spokesperson Jeon Eun-soo.

In addition to the library visit, Kim took the opportunity to separately visit the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, Turkey's national archaeological museum and a prestigious cultural institution.
