Seoul: A former chief of staff of South Korea's Air Force has been appointed as the new ambassador to Israel, the foreign ministry announced on Friday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, retired Gen. Park In-ho, who served as the Air Force chief from 2021 to 2022 under the Moon Jae-in government, will take on the diplomatic role following his retirement in 2022. Park is a graduate of the Air Force Academy and has extensive experience working with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where he was involved in operations and strategic planning divisions.
In addition to Park's appointment, the ministry announced that Kim Sung-min, an emeritus professor of philosophy at Konkuk University, will assume the role of consul-general in the Chinese city of Shenyang.
