Enhypen Returns as Six-Member Group with New EP, ‘The Sin: Bliss’

Seoul: K-pop boy band Enhypen said Thursday its priority remains delivering the best music to fans, as the group returned as a six-member act following the departure of former member Heeseung. Members of Enhypen made the remarks at a press conference held a day ahead of the release of its new EP, "The Sin: Bliss," which continues the vampire concept introduced in its seventh EP, "The Sin: Vanish," released in January.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Jungwon emphasized that regardless of changes within the group, their focus has always been on creating quality music. "From the recording stage, we focused only on how to produce a better album rather than on the number of members," Jungwon stated. Following Heeseung's departure in March, the group now comprises Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-Ki.

Jungwon acknowledged the support of Engine, the group's fan base, as a crucial source of encouragement while they embarked on a global tour and prepared for the new album after Heeseung's exit. "The Sin: Bliss" features 10 tracks centered around a couple's journey to discovering the joy of being together.

Jay described the album as a concept experience, likening it to listening to a radio show in a vampire society. The title track, "Bloody Paradise," is a Brazilian funk song that narrates the tale of a couple's escape, symbolizing a form of "paradise." The track includes contributions from Julia Lewis, known for producing Bad Bunny's "DtMF," and Gaeko of the Korean hip-hop duo Dynamic Duo.

Sunghoon expressed excitement about the title track, noting its distinctiveness from previous songs. Although it marked a departure from their usual style, the group has always appreciated the genre, making it an ideal choice for the title track.

When questioned about their contract renewal plans, the members indicated that while no detailed discussions have occurred, they are committed to working hard to share positive news with their fans. As Enhypen engages with fans worldwide through their largest world tour, "Blood Saga," Jake encouraged anticipation for their future activities with the new EP.

Jake concluded by expressing confidence in the group's new direction: "It is the first album we are releasing as a six-member act, and we are really confident. Since we have returned with a fun album, please look forward to what we have in store as well."
