Seoul: South Korean low-cost carrier Eastar Jet Co. announced the introduction of three new Boeing 737-8 units, a strategic move to expand its fleet.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the addition of these aircraft increases Eastar Jet's fleet size to 18. The company has plans to further expand by adding two more planes of the same model by the end of the year. The Boeing 737-8 is recognized for its fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions, being approximately 20 percent more efficient and producing 20 percent fewer emissions compared to older models. This positions it as a modern eco-friendly aircraft option in the industry.
Eastar Jet has indicated that the newly acquired planes will be used to broaden its route network. A company official stated that the improved fuel efficiency will enhance cost competitiveness while offering better services to customers.
