Seoul: The Hanwha Eagles are currently the most successful team in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), having achieved a nine-game winning streak that has propelled them to the top of the standings with a 24-13-0 record. Despite this impressive performance, the Eagles' manager, Kim Kyung-moon, is intentionally avoiding discussions about the streak to alleviate pressure on his players.

According to Yonhap News Agency, as the Eagles prepared to extend their winning streak to 10 games against the Kiwoom Heroes, who are at the bottom of the standings, Kim expressed his reluctance to focus on the streak. Speaking at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, Kim explained that the attention on the streak can cause unnecessary stress for the players. He emphasized that media discussions about the streak should be minimized to prevent adding pressure on the team.

The Eagles have not experienced a 10-game winning streak since 1999. This current run follows an earlier eight-game streak, which was temporarily halted by two consecutive losses before the team regained momentum.

The team's success has been attributed to a strong starting rotation, including Cody Ponce, who was named the KBO's Player of the Month for March-April, and Ryu Hyun-jin, a former major league ERA leader. However, Kim highlighted the contributions of the entire team, noting the excellence of the bullpen, effective base running, and defensive plays by the position players. He also appreciated the timely performances by individuals in crucial moments, which have been pivotal in maintaining the winning streak.
