Germany’s ice hockey team has a big chance to medal again at the Beijing Winter Olympics because National Hockey League (NHL) players won’t be be present, according to the nation’s star player Leon Draisaitl. Edmonton Oilers forward Draisaitl told Der Spiegel magazine Saturday that the tournament in February would be very similar to that from 2018 in Pyeongchang where Germany claimed a surprise silver medal.
