Seoul: Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's (DP) presidential candidate, is leading in a three-way race against the People Power Party's (PPP) candidate Kim Moon-soo and minor conservative party candidate Lee Jun-seok, as indicated by a recent survey.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the survey conducted by Realmeter involved 1,509 adults aged over 18 from Wednesday to Friday. It showed Lee Jae-myung leading with 46.6 percent, while Kim Moon-soo followed with 27.8 percent, and Lee Jun-seok, representing the New Reform Party, garnered 7.5 percent support.

In another potential matchup, Lee maintained a lead with 46.5 percent against former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who had 34.3 percent, and Lee Jun-seok, who had 5.9 percent. This survey was conducted before Kim was officially nominated as the PPP presidential candidate. Additionally, the poll took place following a Supreme Court decision overturning a lower court's acquittal of Lee Jae-myung in an election law violation case.

Han Duck-soo, who announced his presidential bid last Friday, has expressed interest in unifying candidacies with Kim Moon-soo. In a previous poll, Lee Jae-myung had a stronger lead with 50.9 percent, compared to Kim's 23.3 percent and Lee Jun-seok's 7.4 percent. It is notable that Realmeter did not conduct a poll involving Han Duck-soo at that time.

The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points and a confidence rate of 95 percent. South Korea's presidential election is scheduled for June 3, following the removal of former President Yoon Suk Yeol from office due to his failed martial law bid.
