Diplomatic ties with Thailand will be celebrated through cultural programs

SEOUL, Sept. 21 (Yonhap) -- The culture ministry unveiled on Friday cultural programs to celebrate the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties with Thailand.

Among the programs, the Korean Symphony Orchestra is scheduled to hold a concert at the Thailand Cultural Center in Bangkok on Monday, in collaboration with award-winning South Korean pianist Moon Ji-young, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said. The orchestra has been invited by the organizer of "The International Festival of Dance & Music" sponsored by the Thai royal family.

Separately, Korean and Thai film students from Korea National University of Arts and Chulalongkorn University, respectively, are scheduled to co-produce a documentary about the two nation's exchanges for the coming six months. The final outcome will be screened on television and forums.

The cultural programs run under the name of "Culture_Connected" in hopes that the two countries enhance mutual understanding and continue consolidating friendly relations through cultural exchanges, the ministry said.
