Daegu: Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back has ordered a swift probe into the death of an Army officer found with a gunshot wound, the ministry said Wednesday. The order came a day after the body of the Army captain was discovered at a park in Daegu, with bleeding around the head and an apparent military K-2 rifle nearby. The firearm has been confiscated.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Ahn has called for a strict reprimand of relevant officials and an inspection of the military's firearm management system, including an investigation into how the K-2 rifle was taken out of the military. No signs of foul play have been found, a military official stated.
