Seoul: A deer residing at the Korea Military Academy in northern Seoul made a brief escape from the campus grounds before being safely returned, authorities reported.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the deer, typically found roaming a park within the academy, bypassed a vehicle barricade at one of the gates on Thursday afternoon. Despite being spotted by gate personnel and CCTV operators, the animal managed to leave the campus swiftly.

In response, two vehicles and approximately 10 firefighters were dispatched to track down the deer. The search concluded successfully when the deer was located near a nearby stream. The team then guided the deer back to the campus, where it returned safely after about an hour and 10 minutes, around 2:30 p.m.

Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries or property damage resulting from the incident. The Korea Military Academy has been home to deer for approximately 30 years, with eight deer currently residing in the campus park.
