Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index has seen a notable decline as several major companies reported a drop in their share prices. Among the most impacted were Hanwha Aerospace, Samsung C and T, and SK, which experienced significant downward shifts in their stock prices.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Hanwha Aerospace faced the steepest decline, with its share price dropping by 53,000 to 908,000. Samsung C and T and SK also saw substantial decreases, with their shares falling by 8,500 each to 246,500 and 259,000, respectively. Other companies experiencing downturns included Samsung SDS, which fell by 1,600 to 174,100, and Kiawoo, which saw a decrease of 5,500 to 281,000.
In contrast, a few companies reported an increase in their share prices. Korea Zinc led the gainers with a rise of 74,000, bringing its share price to 1,592,000. KPIC also saw an uptick of 4,700, resulting in a new price of 156,000. Other upward movements included GS Retail, which increased by 350 to 22,300, and KT and G, which went up by 1,400 to 143,000.
Despite some companies showing resilience, the overall trend was downward, affecting investor sentiment. The report highlighted that other companies like Samsung SDI and NAVER also recorded declines, with their share prices decreasing by 5,000 to 303,000 and 4,000 to 240,500, respectively.
The market's mixed performance reflects broader economic uncertainties impacting investor confidence and stock market stability.
