Daegu: Daegu FC forward Cesinha has been voted the South Korean football league's top player for the second straight month. The Korea Professional Football League (K League) announced that the Brazilian forward outperformed three other candidates to secure the Player of the Month award for October.

According to Yonhap News Agency, this marks Cesinha's eighth Player of the Month award, the highest in K League history. The trend of foreign players winning this award since July continues, with previous winners including Jesse Lingard of FC Seoul, Andrea Compagno of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, and Pablo Sabbag of Suwon FC.

The selection process for the award involved multiple voting sources: the K League's technical study group, which contributed 60 percent of the vote; fan voting on the K League website, accounting for 25 percent; and players of EA Sports FC Online by Electronic Arts (EA) Sports, the league's official video game partner, contributing the remaining 15 percent.

In the technical study group voting, Cesinha placed third, trailing behind Lee Dong-gyeong of Ulsan HD FC and Masatoshi Ishida of Daejeon Hana Citizen FC. However, Cesinha led in the fan and video game player votes, ultimately finishing with an overall voting score of 39.65.

During the period in question, Cesinha's performance was notable. He scored two goals and provided an assist in Daegu's 3-2 victory over Gwangju FC on October 4. In another match, he scored the opening goal and assisted Edgar's equalizer in a 2-2 draw against Gangwon FC.

Currently, Cesinha is leading the K League 1 with 12 assists and ranks ninth overall with 11 goals. He stands out as the only player this season to have achieved double figures in both goals and assists.
