‘Culinary Class Wars’ Season 2 and ‘The Great Flood’ Top Netflix Charts

Seoul: "Culinary Class Wars Season 2" has captured the top spot on Netflix's weekly non-English series chart, as announced by the streaming giant on Wednesday. This popular cooking competition series, which premiered last Tuesday, amassed a remarkable 5.5 million views for the week concluding on December 21.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the latest season of "Culinary Class Wars" features an impressive lineup of culinary experts, including Michelin-starred chefs Lee Joon and Son Jong-won, as well as Ven. Seon-jae, renowned for her expertise in Buddhist temple cuisine. These distinguished chefs engage in fiercely competitive culinary battles, captivating audiences worldwide.

Additionally, two other Korean series have secured spots in the top 10 of the non-English series chart. The romantic comedy "Dynamite Kiss," featuring Ahn Eun-jin and Jang Ki-yong, claimed the fourth position with 3.6 million views. Meanwhile, the crime thriller "The Price of Confession," starring Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Go-eun, achieved the seventh spot with 2.7 million views.

In the realm of non-English films, "The Great Flood," which premiered on Friday, soared to the No. 1 position on Netflix's chart for the same period. The sci-fi disaster film, directed by Kim Byung-woo, drew an impressive 27.9 million views, significantly surpassing the Norwegian film "Troll 2," which garnered 3.1 million views.

The storyline of "The Great Flood" centers on An-na, portrayed by Kim Da-mi, a single mother of a 6-year-old son. She awakens to find herself in the midst of a catastrophic flood that overwhelms her apartment complex and threatens the entire planet. The film follows her harrowing journey to protect her young son as they navigate the flooded environment.
