Toyota:Choo Ga-eun secured a gold medal in the women's 10-meter air pistol event at the Asian Games, marking South Korea's first gold of the competition.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Choo achieved an Asian record score of 246.3 points, surpassing the previous record of 245.3 points set by Yukari Konishi of Japan in 2017, and setting a new Asian Games competition record, which was previously 242.1 points by Palak Gulia in 2023.

Choo's performance at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery was remarkable, earning her first Asian Games gold medal during her debut. Shen Yijao from China secured the silver with 241.3 points, while Jiang Ranxin, also from China, took the bronze with 221.6 points.

In the qualification round earlier in the day, Choo set a new Asian Games competition record with 582 points and contributed to South Korea's silver medal in the team event. In the final, she narrowly missed breaking the world record by just 0.7 points.
