Chinese leader’s special envoy to attend closing ceremony of Olympics
SHANGHAI, Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy will attend this weekend's closing ceremony of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, a news report said Monday.
Vice Premier Liu Yandong will attend the closing ceremony on Sunday, China's official Xinhua News Agency said, citing Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang.
South Korea's Foreign Ministry said earlier this month that Liu will arrive in South Korea on Saturday for a three-day visit to attend the closing ceremony.
China sent Han Zheng, a member of Chinese Communist Party's Politburo Standing Committee, to the opening ceremony of the Olympics earlier this month.
