Seoul: Cheil Worldwide Inc. on Friday reported its second-quarter net income of 63.5 billion won (US$43.4 million), up 24 percent from a year earlier. The leading marketing and advertising agency revealed these results in a regulatory filing, highlighting an increase in operating profit for the April-June period, which stood at 92.7 billion won, marking a 0.6 percent rise from the previous year. However, the company's sales experienced a decline of 4 percent, totaling 1.07 trillion won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Cheil's profit numbers aligned with the average estimate, as indicated by a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. Although the estimate of net profit was not disclosed, the results met expectations set by analysts.
