Cambodia Delegates Attend the Global Climate Conference in Korea
Cambodian delegation is attending an international conference on Global Programming Conference: Realising Climate Ambition in Songdo, Republic of Korea.
The delegation is led by the Secretary of State of Environment H.E. Eang Sophalleth, according to the ministry's recent press release.
The conference is held from August 19 to 23, 2019 and attracts over 600 participants from developing and developed countries, including senior government officials, representatives of Green Climate Fund (GCF), national designated authorities and accredited entities as well as other stakeholders.
The fiveday gathering aims to explore how the possible funding available can support countries and competent agencies to achieve their climate ambitions.
Cambodia is working on various project concepts submitting for funding support from GCF including the national climate change adaptation planning, the Preparedness for Green Finance, and the project on promoting green traffic through electric motors.
Based on GCF's website, there are over US$5 billion worth climate action projects around the world and the climate fund is playing a major role in helping especially developing countries to build public awareness and realise their climate ambitions.
