London: K-pop superband BTS has partnered with the British Museum to promote Korean heritage through the "Korea Gallery Trail" program, the group's agency said Wednesday. The initiative aims to highlight Korean culture and artifacts in conjunction with the group's ongoing world tour.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the program, which runs through July 23, is part of the "BTS The City Arirang London," the group's cultural program designed to coincide with their global performances. The event features Korean artifacts on permanent display at the London-based museum, including a moon jar, gold earrings, and roof tiles. These artifacts are presented under themes such as hope and resilience, showcasing the depth and richness of Korean culture.
Visitors to the museum can engage in the "What is Your Arirang?" campaign. This initiative encourages participants to connect with the artifacts that resonate with their personal experiences and share these connections on social media. The campaign draws inspiration from "Arirang," a cherished Korean folk song and the title of BTS's fifth studio album, which was released in March.
The collaboration with the British Museum follows BTS's recent performances at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, where they held a two-day concert earlier this week. This partnership underscores the group's commitment to promoting Korean heritage on a global scale.
