Seoul: "Swim," the lead track from BTS' latest studio album, achieved the No. 1 spot on Melon's Top 100 main songs chart shortly after its release on Friday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, "Swim" was unveiled at 1 p.m. and debuted straight at No. 1 on the chart an hour later. This mirrors BTS' previous success in 2022 when they became the first act to reach the top of the chart within an hour of release with "Yet to Come," following the chart's inception in 2021.
By 2 p.m., all 14 tracks from the new album had entered the chart. Among them, "Body to Body" secured the No. 3 position, "Hooligan" reached No. 6, "Aliens" landed at No. 9, and "Fya" was at No. 11.
The album, titled "Arirang," also achieved significant sales milestones, selling over 1.11 million physical copies by 3 p.m. on the Hanteo Chart, a prominent album sales tracker in South Korea. The record had already surpassed 4 million preorders in January.
