Seoul: K-pop supergroup BTS has expressed deep honor at securing the top spot on the U.S. Billboard charts with its latest album, "Arirang." The group announced on Tuesday that it hopes the album, along with its lead track, "Swim," provides global listeners with "courage and comfort."

According to Yonhap News Agency, Billboard revealed in a preview of this week's Hot 100 main singles chart that "Swim" has become BTS' seventh No. 1 song. This achievement coincides with "Arirang" debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The dual accomplishment represents BTS' first simultaneous No. 1s on both charts in six years since the release of "Be" in 2020.

In a statement via its agency, BigHit Music, BTS expressed gratitude for the success of its fifth studio album, released after a hiatus of three years and nine months. The group acknowledged its global fandom, ARMY, for their unwavering love and support, as well as everyone who listened to and shared their music.

The group emphasized its effort to encapsulate "universal emotions" in the new album, aiming for relatability. They described "Swim" as "a song that encourages perseverance through difficulty," hoping it offers "a bit of courage and comfort beyond borders" to its audience.

BTS conveyed appreciation for the ongoing faith and support from their fans and vowed to continue creating sincere music. The release of "Arirang" earlier this month marked the group's first project since 2022, a period when its members began mandatory military service in South Korea.
