BOK Chief to Participate in BIS Governors’ Meeting in Cape Town

Cape Town: Bank of Korea (BOK) Governor Rhee Chang-yong is set to travel to Cape Town, South Africa, this week to engage in meetings with central bank governors from the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) member nations, as announced by his office on Monday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, during his seven-day visit beginning Tuesday, Rhee will participate in discussions with his counterparts from BIS member nations. The meetings will cover topics related to the global economy and financial conditions through various sessions, including the Meeting of Governors and the Asian Consultative Council.

Rhee, in his role as the chair of the BIS' Committee on the Global Financial System, is also expected to lead a discussion session on pressing global financial issues, as noted by the BOK.
