BOK chief to leave for IMF, World Bank, G-20 meetings this week

The chief of the Bank of Korea (BOK) will leave for the United States this week to attend a series of meetings of financial and economic policymakers and discuss the latest global economic conditions, his office said Monday. BOK Gov. Rhee Chang-yong will depart for Washington on Tuesday to attend the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, as well as gatherings of finance chiefs and top central bankers of the Group of 20 countries, according to the BOK. Participants will discuss the latest global economic situations, sustainable finance, global capital movements and other key global issues. He will return home next Tuesday.
