Seoul: BGF Retail Co. on Thursday reported its third-quarter net income of 79.3 billion won (US$54.8 million), marking a 13.4 percent increase from the previous year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing that it achieved an operating profit of 97.7 billion won for the quarter, a rise from 91.2 billion won during the same period last year. The company's sales saw an increase of 5.9 percent, reaching 2.46 trillion won.

The operating profit exceeded the average estimate by 3.6 percent, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. However, the estimate for net profit was not provided.
