BAI asked to inspect management of athletes, coaches
SEOUL, The sports ministry said Wednesday it has requested that a state audit agency conduct a probe into how athletes, coaches and national training center facilities are being managed.
The request follows a series of sports scandals in skating and judo, including alleged sexual assaults, that have been belatedly exposed. Olympic short track champion Shim Suk-hee recently accused her former coach Cho Jae-beom of sexually assaulting her for years, and, encouraged by Shim's action, former judoka Shin Yu-yong asserted that her high school coach sexually abused her.
