Assembly Speaker to Visit Netherlands and Kenya for Semiconductors and Trade Talks

Seoul: National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik plans to visit the Netherlands and Kenya this week for talks on cooperation in semiconductors and other sectors, his office said Sunday. Woo's itinerary includes a seven-day trip, beginning with a visit to the Netherlands to engage with Dutch parliamentary leaders.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Woo aims to discuss strategies for enhancing cooperation in the semiconductor industry during his Netherlands visit. The Netherlands is notable for its chipmaking equipment companies such as ASML, while South Korea is recognized as a leading manufacturer in the chip industry. This meeting is expected to pave the way for increased collaboration between the two nations in this vital sector.

Following his engagements in the Netherlands, Woo will proceed to Kenya. There, he is scheduled to meet with President William Ruto to explore opportunities for expanding trade and investment between South Korea and Kenya. The discussions aim to strengthen economic ties and foster mutual growth between the two countries.
