Arrested “Pon Nong Khaem”, a drug distributor to teenagers in the community

Bangkok, Metropolitan Police detectives raided a drug den owned by 'Pon Nong Khaem', 21, who was a drug dealer for teenagers in the community and posted guns to show off. Pol. Maj. Gen. Thiradech Thamsuthee, Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau's Crime Suppression Division, along with Pol. Col. Sittisak Nakamat, Commander of the Crime Suppression Division 2, Metropolitan Police Bureau's Crime Suppression Division, Pol. Lt. Col. Wutthipan Phaobthong, Superintendent of the Crime Suppression Division 2, Metropolitan Police Bureau's Crime Suppression Division, 2nd Operations Unit, and TOP G Special Criminal Investigation Course trainees from the 2nd Operations Unit jointly arrested 1. Mr. Niwat, aged 21, 2. Mr. Witthaya, aged 21, and 3. Ms. B (pseudonym), aged 17, on charges of 'jointly distributing Category 2 psychotropic substances (ketamine) for the purpose of distributing without permission.' Along with evidence of Category 2 psychotropic substances (Ketamine), white powder type, contained in a clea r plastic bag that can be pressed to close and pull open, 1 bag, total weight including the bag approximately 2.44 grams, Category 2 psychotropic substances (Ketamine), white flakes type, contained in a clear plastic bag that can be pressed to close and pull open, 1 bag, total weight including the bag approximately 39.33 grams, 1 digital scale, arrested at a house in Soi Phongsirichai 4, Nong Khang Phlu Subdistrict, Nong Khaem District, Bangkok. The circumstances prior to the arrest, the Metropolitan Police Bureau's Crime Suppression Division has continuously arrested several suspects in serious drug cases in Bangkok. From the investigation, it was discovered that Mr. Niwat or Pon had a history of drug use in a gang and posted pictures of firearms. The investigation revealed that Mr. Niwat lived in Soi Phongsirichai 4, Nong Khaem Subdistrict, Nong Khaem District, Bangkok, which was believed to be a place where drugs and firearms were hidden. Therefore, a report was reported to the commanding officer, who ord ered an investigation and an order to request a search warrant from the Taling Chan Criminal Court in the area of ??the house. Later, on July 26, 2024 at approximately 07.00 a.m., officers from the Crime Suppression Division 2, Metropolitan Police Bureau, brought a search warrant from the Taling Chan Criminal Court, No. 182/2024, dated July 25, 2024, to search a house in Soi Phongsirichai 4, Nong Khang Phlu Subdistrict, Nong Khaem District, Bangkok. They found Mr. Niwat, the first suspect. The arresting officers identified themselves as police officers and showed Mr. Niwat their police ID cards. The arresting officers then showed Mr. Niwat the search warrant and read the contents of the search warrant to him until he understood. They then asked Mr. Niwat to voluntarily search his house and watch the search throughout. The search of the area found Mr. Witthaya, the second suspect, and Ms. B, the third suspect, residing in a room on the third floor of the house during the search. The police officers then cont inued to search the room, with Mr. Niwat, Mr. Wittaya, and Ms. B present to watch the search throughout. The search results found evidence of Ketamine No. 1 placed on the computer table in the room, Ketamine No. 2, and a digital scale No. 3 placed on the same computer table. The second suspect, Mr. Wittaya, admitted that the Ketamine (ketamine) was his and that he had it for his own use in the room. The arresting officers then informed the first, second, and third suspects that they would be arrested, and charged the three suspects with 'jointly distributing Category 2 psychotropic substances (ketamine) by possessing them for sale without permission.' Thiradej Thamsuthee said that this operation is an important and urgent policy to seriously solve major crimes in the area by using measures to strictly suppress organized crime in all forms, which is considered a source of other crimes that will follow, causing suffering and damage to society in various forms on a wide scale, in line with the go vernment's important policies.
