Seoul: Arts Council Korea (Arko) announced plans to open an exhibition featuring works by the inaugural group of artists from its artist-in-residence program at the new art studio in northern Seoul. The exhibition, titled "In Situ," will display the creative processes of 10 artists, including four from South Korea and six international artists from Finland, Vietnam, Japan, Poland, Austria, and Mozambique.

According to Yonhap News Agency, "In Situ," which translates to "in position" or "on site," captures the artists' exploration of their new environments. The works on display are the culmination of the artists' experiences at the Arko Art Creation Studio. This initiative by the state-funded arts policy organization aims to cultivate Korea's art ecosystem and was launched in June as a dedicated residency space for both Korean and international artists.

The establishment of this studio is considered a significant step in Arko's mission to promote global artistic and cultural exchange and to enhance Korea's cultural footprint. The selected artists are participating in two separate groups, with the first cohort having completed their residency from June to September, while the second group is currently in residence.

The exhibition will run from Thursday until January 18, 2026, at the Arko Art Center.
