Uiwang: A fire broke out at an apartment in Uiwang, just south of Seoul, on Thursday, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to two others, officials reported. The incident occurred on the 14th floor of a 20-story building at approximately 10:30 a.m., prompting a rapid response from local authorities.
According to Yonhap News Agency, around 70 firefighters were dispatched to the scene to tackle the blaze. Tragically, one resident fell from the building and was pronounced dead. Two other individuals sustained minor injuries, including burns and smoke inhalation.
Fire authorities successfully brought the main blaze under control by 11:21 a.m. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.
