Seoul: Amorepacific Corp., South Korea's leading cosmetic company, announced a remarkable increase in its second-quarter net profit, reporting a total of 93.4 billion won (US$64.9 million), reflecting a 148.1 percent rise compared to the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the cosmetic giant disclosed in a regulatory filing that its operating income for the period from April to June surged by 59.3 percent year-on-year, reaching 117.3 billion won. Additionally, the company's sales experienced a significant boost, increasing by 17 percent to total 1.17 trillion won.
These earnings figures have surpassed market expectations, with the average net profit estimate by analysts pegged at 74.9 billion won, as per a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data arm of Yonhap News Agency.
