Actor Kim Soo-hyun Set to Engage with Fans in Manila: A Return to Public Life

Manila: Kim Soo-hyun is preparing to reconnect with his admirers in the Philippines this October, as announced by a fashion brand on Tuesday. This eagerly anticipated event marks the actor's re-emergence into the public sphere following a period of reduced activity due to allegations linked to the late actress Kim Sae-ron.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the fan event is scheduled to occur at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila on October 2, where approximately 20,000 fans are expected to gather. The event is organized by Bench, a prominent lifestyle and fashion brand in the Philippines, and follows an advertising shoot that took place earlier this year. In a promotional video released on Bench's social media earlier this month, Kim Soo-hyun expressed his excitement about the event, stating, "I've missed you all so much. I'm truly happy to be back."

The actor's return to the public eye comes on the heels of a legal battle involving conservative YouTuber Kim Se-ui, who was arrested for allegedly disseminating false information about Kim Soo-hyun's relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron. These allegations emerged from the YouTube channel Hover Lab in March 2025, following the actress's tragic death in February, which authorities deemed a suicide.

In response to the allegations, Kim Soo-hyun held a press conference later in March, where he confirmed his past relationship with Kim Sae-ron but firmly denied that it occurred while she was a minor. He also pursued legal action against both the YouTuber and the actress's family for defamation. Recently, police dropped the underage dating charge against Kim, citing insufficient evidence to support the family's accusations.
