Seoul: Actor Bae Yong-joon of the 2002 hit drama "Winter Sonata" has made a significant contribution of 3 billion won (US$2.08 million) to a prominent medical institution, according to medical sources.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Bae's generous donation was disclosed in the December edition of a newsletter published by Yonsei University Health System (YUHS). The actor expressed his hope that YUHS will continue to advance as a leading medical institution and that the donation will be instrumental in creating a world where everyone, including children from low-income families, can enjoy good health.

YUHS is affiliated with several hospitals, including Severance Hospital, Gangnam Severance Hospital, and Yongin Severance Hospital.
