4 Carmakers to Recall Over 400,000 Vehicles Over Faulty Parts

Seoul: Hyundai Motor, BMW Korea, and two other carmakers will voluntarily recall more than 400,000 vehicles in South Korea to address defective components, the transport ministry said Tuesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the four companies, which also include Kia and KG Mobility Corp., are recalling a combined 408,942 units across 24 models, as reported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The recalls aim to address a range of issues, including a software defect in the electric seat system of Hyundai Motor's Palisade sport utility vehicle and a potential fire risk associated with the air-conditioning wiring system in BMW's 520i sedan.

Vehicle owners can verify whether their vehicles are subject to the recall by visiting the government website (www.car.go.kr) or by calling 080-357-2500.
