Metropolitan Police Bureau arrests 31-year-old woman who opened a Facebook page to trick people into buying wooden furniture. She accepted the money but never sent the goods. Police jointly investigated and arrested Ms. Thanyarat, 31 years old, according to the arrest warrant of the Taling Chan Criminal Court, who is accused of committing the crime of "fraud, importing false computer data into a computer system in a manner that is likely to cause damage to any person". She was arrested in front of Soi Wat Tha Kiewian, Khlong Khoi Subdistrict, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province. In this case, on June 23, 2022, the victim came to file a complaint with the investigation officer at Mae Chan Police Station, stating that on June 10, 2022, he went to look at a Facebook page about selling furniture. There was a Facebook page that announced the sale of a set of teakwood living rooms. The victim thought it was beautiful, so he chatted to talk and ask about the price. The page sent a picture of the living room set for him to see. The victim asked if they could deliver to Chiang Rai Province. The page said they could, so they agreed to buy and sell. Then on June 11, 2022, the first transfer was made at 11.29 a.m. in the amount of 7,000 baht for the purchase of a teak living room set, a display cabinet, a TV table, and a teak stool at 12.44 p.m. In the amount of 13,500 baht, the purchase was made of a teak living room set, a display cabinet, a TV table, and a teak stool. On June 15, 2022, the PromptPay transfer was made in the amount of 6,000 baht for the purchase of a teak cabinet. After the transfer was made, it turned out that the page did not deliver the teak living room set to the victim in any way and could not be contacted. The victim thought that he must have been deceived, so he brought the supporting documents to meet the investigator to file a complaint. During the arrest, Ms. Thanyarat confessed to all charges. From checking her criminal record in the database of the Royal Thai Police (Crime System), informa tion was found that Ms. Thanyarat had a history of being prosecuted in the database for fraud and entering information into the computer system, a total of 12 cases.
